Turkey
Bolognese Sauce
with Pasta
Made some just today, fabulous!
Ingredients
1 lb ground turkey meat
1 small onion
1 green bell pepper
3 stalks celery
1 small jar of mild salsa
3 tablespoons tomato ketchup
2 tablespoons of favorite BBQ sauce
2-3 tablespoons olive oil
Steak Seasoning salt
Cajun Seasoning
Directions
- Dice all of the vegetables and sauté them in some olive oil.
- Season lightly with steak seasoning.
- After about 5 minutes or so, remove the veggies when they start to brown and are soft.
- Season the ground turkey with some steak seasoning mix and some Cajun seasoning. Mix well into the raw meat.
- Put more oil in to the pan and add the seasoned turkey. We have a special X shaped chopper stirrer that breaks the meat up into small kernels, rather than large chunks of meat (this is important to do even if you just use a spoon or spatula).
- When the meat is just done, add the veggies back into the pan with the meat and stir together.
- Add the salsa & BBQ sauce and simmer for several minutes to reduce the liquid and cook the sauces and the meat/veggies some more.
- Taste for seasoning, it should taste fabulous.
- Cook your favorite pasta and serve the two together for a turkey version of Bolognese Sauce that is out of this world!
